Roy Bitcon AKA Papa AKA Dad AKA Grandaddy was the strong-armed protector and unabashed comedian on 38th Street best known for pinching his grandchildren, flirting with nurses, tossing whole eggs (shells included) into his annual Egg Nog, indiscriminately enacting psychological warfare on telemarketers and, much to the chagrin of the local fire department, accidentally setting off his life-line bare-chested and in overalls while working in his garden. Surrounded by a herd of rambunctious offspring who loved him fiercely, he passed with dignity while wearing the same big-old smile that many of us have inherited on the morning of June 19, 2019 at the age of 91.

To say that Roy will be dearly missed is an understatement. It is our responsibility now to take turns holding each other up and to carry his young-at-heart spirit and sly wit on and on, until forever. Friends and Family will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (at 14th St., between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705) on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 10am to 11am. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11am. Messages of Condolence may be placed at RidleyFuneralHome.com.
