It is with great sadness that the family announces that their beloved Aunt Jennie Vermeulen passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born August 4, 1924 to Michael Fenuik and Sarah Mesenchuk on a farm located Sec. 12 TP 29 RGE 8, W2 near Insinger Saskatchewan. Jennie is predeceased by her husband Jacob (Jake) who were married for 56 years. She met her husband while working at Goodyear and were married September 2, 1944. She also worked at a leather factory, Flash Fasteners, Swansea Steel and retired from Canadian Stackpole. Jennie was very devoted to her family and was always there with a helping hand. She will be dearly missed by niece Marlene (Eugene) Berehula and nephew Gary Fenuik, great nieces Deborah Gray, Donna Mayhew, Kathy Gallagher, Sheri Duffy and great nephew Darren Duffy. She is survived by her sisters Maryanne Hutton, Lethbridge, Alta, Lee Kaizer Yorkton, Saskatchewan and brother George Fenuik of Burnaby B.C. Jennie is predeceased by her parents Michael and Sarah, brothers William (Bill), Matthew (Matt), John WWII, Edward and sisters Jean Elliott, Kay Swetz, Swan River, Manitoba. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Etobicoke). A funeral service will be held on Monday March 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Springcreek Cemetery (Clarkson Rd., Mississauga). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
